Interview Training for EX-Level Government Jobs

Prepare for Government interviews at the EX-1, EX-2 and EX-3 level.

This specialized EX assessment course helps federal public servants show they meet executive competencies and stand out – with confidence and authenticity.

You’ll leave with a set of clear, memorable messages that reflect your leadership — and a structured way to deliver them under pressure.

What the training looks like

This training is delivered one-on-one in three sessions, usually over 2-3 weeks:

Session 1 – 90 minutes: Best practices for executive interviews + prep guidance.

  • Evolution of leadership roles – from Manager to Senior Executive
  • Key Leadership Competencies and behaviours – EX-1 to EX-3
  • EX interview process and common formats
  • Your key message throughout the process
  • Examples, anecdotes and value quotes 
  • Questions types and effective responses

Homework: You then develop your own messaging, examples and quotes. I’ll give you clear direction and feedback to help you get there.

Session 2 – 90 minutes: Review and refine your key message and examples + a short mock interview.

Session 3 – 2 hours: A mock interview with structured feedback, tailored to your competitive process – usually done a few days before your real interview.
